The harbor area is quite popular among Germans and Irish because of this, you would find traditional Irish pubs. On the east side of the city are located hotels, shops and bars. The beaches are beautiful and from the city you can make several excursions to interesting sites in Crete. There is a small aquarium, the Aquaworld, ideal for visiting with children, and an Open Air Museum Lychnostatis where a traditional Cretan village is recreated. Apparently there is a lot of activities for children but also for adults. Activities for adults are given at night because the variety and activity of bars, restaurants and nightclubs is incredible. And for lovers of history there are some Roman, Greek and Byzantine ruins
